It is divided into domestic national standard levels (mainly promoted for domestic sales) and international mainstream export standards (essential for cross-border e-commerce), all of which are tested using the industry's universal climate chamber method, suitable for product details and foreign trade promotion.
1、 Chinese National Standard GB/T 39600-2021
1. ENF level (highest level | formaldehyde free addition level)
Formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.025 mg/m ³
Applicable: high-end home decoration, children's rooms, mother and baby spaces, and health and wellness facilities
2. E0 level
Formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.050 mg/m ³
Applicable: Home residences, offices, and shops (the new national standard GB18580-2025 in 2026 requires a minimum recommended E0 for artificial board products such as flooring)
3. E1 level (indoor admission threshold)
Formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.124 mg/m ³
Applicable: workwear, rental housing, public places, allowing direct indoor use
2、 International General Environmental Protection Standards for Export Sales
1. EU standard EN 13986
E1: ≤ 0.124 mg/m ³ (European indoor standard, exported to mainstream Europe and America)
There is no mandatory E0 rating in Europe, and E0 on the market is mostly used as an internal control label for enterprises.
2. Japanese JIS A 5908 (F-star standard)
F ★★★★ (F4 stars) ≤ 0.03 mg/m ³ (the highest level in Japan, unlimited pavement area)
F ★★★, F ★★, F ★ are gradually relaxed and commonly used for export to Japan
3. CARB certification in the United States (California standard)
CARB P2: Mainstream Access Standards for the North American Market
CARB NAF: High end standard without aldehyde addition
